Focus of Study:
First semester will focus on the following areas of study:
5 Major World Religions, The Rise and Fall of Ancient Rome, Byzantine Empire, and the Middle Ages.
Second Semester will focus on the following areas of study:
European Renaissance, and Reformation, Ancient Societies of Asia and Africa, The World of Exploration, Revolutions, (Scientific, Industrial, French, American and Russian) 5 Major Causes of WWI, The Rise of Totalitarianism in Europe, WWII, The Holocaust, and the Rise and Fall of Communism and the Cold War.

Classroom Procedure
4. I always begin my class on time, therefore, I expect you to be on time. My classroom follows the student handbook concerning tardiness.
5. Once class has begun remain in your seat unless otherwise indicated.

- NEATLY DONE: Sloppy or incomplete work is unacceptable and will receive 10% off your original grade. If re-done well by the next day, the student can receive full credit.
- HOMEWORK IS DUE at the BEGINNING OF THE CLASS PERIOD for which it was assigned.
- MAKE-UP WORK: If you are absent you will be given the number of days missed to make up your homework. However, you will never be given more than one week's time to make it up. If you turn in your work late, you will be given one day penalty of 25% off the original grade. Anything after will be considered a zero.
- It is the STUDENT'S responsibility to pick-up homework when absent.
- When you are absent, plan on taking the test the day you return.
- To prevent cheating, there is NO talking allowed while tests remain out. If you talk and the test is in front of you you receive a 0 on your test. If you are finished and you talk you will receive 10 points off for every time you talk.
- No retakes on exams and if there will be retakes aloud for other quizzes/tests it will be announced. Otherwise, assume to study and to do your very best the first time around.
Classroom Procedure
- At the beginning of each class you will be given an impromptu journal assignment, which will be on the overhead. You are expected to be in your seats writing when class begins.
- Your journal must fulfill the following criteria:
- Minimum 5-lines
- Chronological order
- Neatness and best effort
- When you are absent you will not have to make-up the missed journal, merely write the date that you missed and the word "Absent".
